pdxMindShare was founded in 1999 by Anvil Media, Inc., as a means for exploring the future of the Internet through some of the top thinkers in Portland, OR. Once the dot bomb hit, the mission evolved into helping technology professionals find work.

The monthly gatherings were small and focused until January of 2002, when the event was opened up to all professionals.
